Boettcher Opportunity Award
Funded by the Boettcher Foundation, the scholarship was established to benefit under-represented groups on campus. Recipients will meet the following criteria:
1. Residents of the State of Colorado and U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
2. First generation college students (neither parent has received a bachelor's degree).
3. Sophomores, juniors, or seniors without a first bachelor's degree.
4. Enrolled full-time in any major with a cumulative 3.0 Colorado State University GPA.
5. Taking courses generally accepted as "academic" and making progress towards their degree.
The $3,000 annual award is renewable provided students maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA and provide an annual report to the Boettcher Foundation detailing their academic year experience.
Typically, five $3,000 scholarships are awarded or renewed.

Colorado Power Council Scholarship
The Colorado Power Council (CPC) was founded in 1954 to enhance the full development and proper use of electrical energy. Its membership came from all aspects of the electric power industry: utilities (investor-owned, municipals, and rural electric associations), manufacturers and distributors of electric products, and other interrelated companies. The fund was established prior to the CPC merger with the Rocky Mountain Electric League in 1999. The scholarship is awarded to Colorado residents who are incoming freshmen enrolled in any degree program in Agricultural Sciences, Business, Engineering, Natural Resources, or Natural Sciences.
The scholarship is renewable if specific renewal criteria are met and is typically $1,000.

Funded by alumni of Colorado State University, this scholarship benefits full-time, resident undergraduates whose biological or adoptive parents have not received a bachelor's degree, and who demonstrate financial need.

The Durand Family Scholarship
The scholarship was established by James R. and Emily K. Durand, originally from Michigan. Their three children are graduates of Colorado institutions of higher education and have successful careers. The Durand's wish is to assist other deserving young people to develop their minds and talents in becoming responsible adults and citizens. The scholarship is for full-time undergraduate students in any class and any major. Recipients must demonstrate financial need and have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.

The scholarship was established by the Elbert County Alumni Chapter. Its purpose is to assist Colorado State University students in any class level and any major who graduated from an Elbert County high school or were home schooled in Elbert County. Recipients must demonstrate financial need.

This scholarship was established by Margaret Lorene Flack in memory of the Flack Family of Agate, Colorado, to be used for the children of Elbert County, Colorado. The scholarship is for Colorado State University students who are from Elbert County, Colorado, and who are enrolled in any class and any major. Recipients must be in good academic standing and demonstrate financial need.

The purpose of the Fund is to provide academic scholarships for students enrolled at Colorado State University. The scholarship is not to be awarded as an athletic scholarship; however student athletes are not precluded from receiving the scholarship.

Carl and Harriet Gilman Memorial Scholarship
The scholarship was established in honor of Carl and Harriet Gilman from a gift of land Mr. Gilman's paternal grandmother originally homesteaded in Colorado. Both Carl and Harriet were born and raised in Colorado, but lived the majority of their adult, married life in California. The scholarship is awarded where the need is greatest.

Havighorst/President's Emergency Fund Scholarship
The scholarship fund was established by a gift from Colonel and Mrs. Russel K. Havighorst. Colonel Havighorst was a 1914 graduate and wanted to help "students up over the last ten feet of the cliff." The scholarship is for juniors, seniors and graduate students in good standing, carrying a full academic load, and demonstrating financial need.

Marion Carnes Hendrie Scholarship
The scholarship was established by Edwin B. Hendrie of Denver in memory of his wife. Its purpose is to assist worthy and needy students. Recipients shall aspire to make the most of themselves, have the ambition to get an education and the industry to work for it, and the thrift to wisely spend their limited income. Mr. Hendrie hoped the scholarship would bring cheer and courage to the recipient, assisting them to live a life of usefulness, helpfulness, and kindness to others, such as characterized the life of his wife.

The scholarship fund was established in honor of Evelyn Jones. It is awarded to freshmen who are sons or daughters of Colorado State University alumni and is based on their academic achievement, financial need, leadership ability, personality, character, and promise of success.

Harold B. and Sylvia F. Joy Scholarship
The scholarship fund was established by Sylvia F. Joy in memory of her late husband, Harold B. Joy. Harold B. Joy was a 1917 graduate of Colorado State University who had a distinguished architectural and construction career. It was his desire to give something back to the University in return for the fine education he received. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist a Colorado State University undergraduate student who is in good academic standing and demonstrates financial need.

Julia Klug Scholarship
The scholarship fund was established by the late Mrs. Julia Klug. Mrs. Klug was a lifelong resident of Denver, Colorado. She was an active volunteer in a variety of civic and fraternal organizations. While not having the opportunity for either herself or her husband to receive an advanced degree, she wished to enable others to achieve their higher education goals. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist Colorado State University graduate or undergraduate students who are in good academic standing, demonstrate academic leadership and/or involvement in volunteer civic activities, and demonstrate grade improvement in high school or college.

Paul E. Lilyblade Memorial Scholarship
The purpose of the fund is to provide scholarship assistance in memory of Paul E. Lilyblade for students who are graduates of Poudre High School in Fort Collins, Colorado and who are enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at Colorado State University. Additionally, the recipient shall be an incoming freshman enrolled full-time. They may be in any major, must be in good academic standing, and demonstrate financial need.
College education was extremely important to Paul and Colorado State University became a true love. He helped and inspired his sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, a nephew, and granddaughters to further their education. Paul was a vice president of Sterling Companies.

Dorothy and Roy Malone Scholarship
The scholarship was funded by the trust of long-time southern Colorado residents, Dorothy and Roy Malone. The Malones grew up in the Pueblo area and moved to Colorado Springs in 1957, where they lived until their deaths. Through the scholarship endowment, the couple wished to give back to the community some of the benefits they had received from it. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to graduates from any Pueblo County high school who plan to attend Colorado State University. Criteria include graduation from any high school in Pueblo County in the upper one-third of the class, participation in extracurricular activities, and financial need.

Bill Manning Memorial Scholarship
The scholarship was established by the Sons of the American Legion George Beach Post #4 to fulfill Bill Manning's desire to help American Legion members' sons and daughters further their education. Bill was a member of the American Legion Post #4, located in LaPorte, Colorado, for over 30 years.

The McPherson Undergraduate Scholarship provides financial assistance to San Luis Valley high school graduates who plan to attend Colorado State University. Funds for the scholarship were bequeathed to Colorado State University upon the death of Alamosa resident, Edith McPherson.
Thirty-three (33) $1,000 scholarships awarded or renewed for 2008-2009. This scholarship is renewable if specific renewal criteria are met.

Niles and Dorothy Miller Scholarship
The Niles and Dorothy Miller Scholarship was established by friends and family of Niles and Dorothy Miller to provide scholarship assistance to graduates of Valley High School in Gilcrest, Colorado who attend Colorado State University, with preference given to students enrolled in the College of Agricultural Sciences.

Niles and Dorothy Miller have had an extensive and rich history in the agricultural community of Platteville, Colorado. The Millers farmed on the family homestead south of Platteville for over 50 years.
Giving back to the community was a cornerstone of Dorothy's life. A scholarship that assists youth in their pursuit of agricultural based education is the perfect way to celebrate Dorothy's life.
The recipient(s) of the scholarship shall:
1. Be enrolled in any major, with preference given to students enrolled in the College of Agricutural Sciences;
2. Be enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student;
3. Demonstrate financial need as established by Student Financial Services of Colorado State University;
4. Maintain an overall 2.7 GPA; and
5. Be a graduate of Valley High School in Gilcrest, Colorado, or Johnstown High School, or any other Weld County high school.

Beau Mitchell Memorial Scholarship
The scholarship was established in memory of Beau Mitchell by his parents and family. It is intended to provide financial assistance and encouragement to Colorado State students who exhibit qualities and values similar to those of Beau Mitchell. The scholarship is available to Colorado State University students in any field of study and any year of study. It is open to students from any state, with a preference for out-of-state students. Good academic standing is required, but academic excellence is not necessarily a factor. Candidates for this scholarship should be of strong moral character and show a marked concern for others. They should be strongly oriented to outdoor life, and there is a preference for individuals who are former members of the Boy Scouts of America.

Robert, Margaret, and Garry Saylor Scholarship
Robert and Margaret Saylor established this scholarship in memory of Garry Saylor, Robert's son. Garry Saylor graduated from Holyoke High School in 1954 and enrolled in Colorado A&M in the fall. Garry was an outstanding student. He was a member of Lancers, Kappa Kappa Psi, and Symphonic Band. He was Marching Band drum major, Sigma Phi Epsilon campus relations chairman, Major Activities chairman, and ROTC band drum major. Garry graduated in 1958 with a B.S. in Agricultural Soil Conservation. He returned to Colorado State from 1959-1960 to obtain his master's degree. The scholarship is intended to provide financial assistance toward the cost of resident tuition and fees for students who are graduates of Holyoke High School and are enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at Colorado State University. The recipient shall be an incoming freshman enrolled full-time. They may be in any major, must be in good academic standing, and demonstrate financial need.

Tillotson Colorado Scholars Award
The scholarship was established by former Wheat Ridge resident Inez G. Tillotson. A 1936 alumna with a Bachelor of Science in General Home Economics, she taught high school in Gypsum, Colorado, and in Nebraska. During the last 25 years of her career, she worked for the Bureau of Land Reclamation in Denver. The purpose of the fund is to assist Colorado State University freshmen. Awards are made to students who meet the following criteria: high school academic achievement which includes college entrance examination and grade point average, extracurricular activities and community service, and demonstrated financial need.

Letha and Bruce Whitmore Memorial Scholarship
The scholarship was established by friends and family of Bruce G. Whitmore because of his dedication and devotion to his work, his love of young people, and loyalty to his alma mater. Its purpose is to assist a Colorado State University sophomore, junior, or senior who was a former member of a 4-H Club in Kiowa County, Colorado. Recipients must be Colorado residents. Scholastic record, leadership ability, and evidence of good citizenship are also considered. Financial need is desirable, but not mandatory.
Mr. Whitmore graduated from Colorado State University in 1945 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Husbandry. He earned a Master of Science at Colorado State University in 1961. He served as a federal extension agent in Kiowa County for 22 1/2 years. His life was spent in devotion to youth activities. He established the 4-H Council in Kiowa County and remained active in it until his death in 1970.

Laurie Wile Memorial Scholarship
The scholarship was established in memory of Laura Danielle Wile. Laurie battled osteosarcoma for five years and was an inspiration to all who knew her. She attended Colorado State University between chemotherapy treatments and stated that her time on campus was one of her most fulfilling life experiences.
The purpose of the fund is to provide scholarship assistance to students like Laurie and their immediate family members who have financial need as a result of medical expenses associated with fighting cancer.

The scholarship was established by Margery Monfort Wilson. Mrs. Wilson, who died in April 1988, was a strong Colorado State supporter. She graduated from Colorado State University in 1942 with a degree in Home Economics and was an active member of the Colorado State Alumni Association. The purpose of the scholarship is to assist students who demonstrate financial need.
